On 15 January 2018, an amended provision of the Commercial Code concerning a contact person will enter into force.
Namely, if the management board of a company is located in a foreign state, the company must appoint a contact person to whom the procedural documents of the company and declarations of intention addressed to the undertaking can be delivered in Estonia.
The following may be appointed a contact person: a notary, notary’s office, attorney, law office, sworn auditor, audit firm, tax representative of a non-resident within the meaning of the Taxation Act or a provider of trust and company services specified in § 8 of the Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Act.
